2017 Art Contest

The Psychology and the Other Conference invites artists to create and submit a visual representation of the "Other" or "Otherness" as a part of this October's conference. We are excited to be welcoming the visual arts into this year's discussion and are hosting this art contest as a way of highlighting artistic approaches to the interdisciplinary conversations taking place at this year's event.

This contest has a $250 cash prize for the selected piece. To enter please create a piece of visual art (Illustration, painting, photography, sculpture) and submit the work by clicking HERE.

You will be asked to complete a brief application that includes your name, institutional affiliation (if any), a brief artist bio (50-75 words), and the opportunity to upload a photo image of you work. Artists may also submit a brief written description of their work no longer than 200 words in length.

Entry Details:

The dimensions of two dimensional entries may not exceed 40’ x 40’.  Sculptural submissions must be free standing and small enough to be easily transported to the conference site. All finalists will be responsible for transporting their art to the conference site on Thursday October 12th and from the conference on Sunday October 15th.

Finalists will be selected by conference staff while the winner will be selected by popular vote of conference attendees. Digital images and descriptions must be received by September 24th and the final vote will take place on October 14th.
